Vietnam Oregon Initiative Network

Promote partnerships through collaborative trainings, research and educational exchange

The Vietnam-Oregon Initiative Network (VOI) is a collaborative network fostering partnerships and exchange between Vietnam and Oregon through education, trade, and security cooperation. Formalized in 2015 through a Letter of Intent between Governor Kate Brown and the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, VOI builds on decades of multi-level leadership and training programs to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation. Grounded in the “Hatfield Way” values of social justice, peaceful conflict resolution, and inclusive representation, this initiative demonstrates how cross-cultural partnerships can create meaningful international connections while embodying the principle of “serious fun” in collaborative work.
